Hearnden Associates - Independent Financial Advisers

The Team

Most of our clients never see the administration team that back up our Independent Financial Advisers. In an industry as compliance driven as ours it is essential that we have well trained, capable staff who you can rely on whether you wish to invest £25 a month for your child’s future or add a £500,000 buy-to-let mortgage to your ever growing property portfolio. Your property may be repossessed if you do not keep up repayments on your mortgage. For mortgage advice we charge an administration fee of £199 and we can also accept commission from the lender

Alison Wheeler

I joined Hearnden Associates for a few hours a week in 2001 and now do three days. My main responsibilities are submitting various applications for all the Advisers and following up all investment policies until they are issued. In addition to this I am responsible for carrying out quality control checks on our clients’ files. I am married with two daughters and live within walking distance of the office. My interests are keeping fit, interior design and decorating and wine tasting.

Emma Watters

I have worked for Hearnden Associates for seven years in a part-time capacity although my hours have increased as my children have got older. Having started with the Company as a typist/administrator I am now the Practice Manager. I am responsible for ensuring our regulatory and compliance procedures are in place and kept up to date as well as taking on one-off projects. I oversee and maintain our website and dedicated software system. I am also the point of contact for prospective and existing clients if an Adviser is unavailable to speak to them. When not at work I am often to be found in my craft room creating scrapbook albums or in the summer months attempting to keep the weeds at bay in my garden.

Claire Peverley

I joined in October 2003 as the accounts administrator. My duties include commission analysis, payroll and the Company cash books. When not at Hearnden Associates I have an additional part-time job as a swimming teacher. I am mother to three girls and when the working day is over enjoy nothing more than a glass of wine with my husband.

Gemma Nottingham

I have worked for the Company since February 2005 and am the Office Manager. I have two main areas of responsibility. Most importantly for our clients I prioritise and process the many mortgage applications we receive. I also train new members of staff and oversee the administration team. Prior to joining Hearnden Associates I travelled the world for a year and make the most of my annual leave by visiting long-haul destinations.

Sandra Love
I joined Hearnden Associates three years ago in a part-time secretarial capacity. Under guidance from the Advisers I am now responsible for processing all the savings, investment and pension business written by the Company. This is a very busy job especially as, when not at work, I have been studying for my CeFA qualification which I passed in March 2008 and am now a qualified Financial Adviser. As the mother of four teenage children I have limited time to myself but enjoy spending time with family and friends.

Ben Chandler
Ben joined the Company in July 2006 after completing his A levels. He assisted with all areas of the business from obtaining information from investment houses to keeping clients briefed on the status of their mortgage applications. He had an active social life with friends and enjoyed being part of a close supportive family. Ben passed away in September 2008 after a two year battle with melanoma but will always be part of our team.

Timur Dalrymple

I started at Hearnden Associates in April 2007 initially in the office junior role. However I am now involved with everything from processing applications for life cover to inputting mortgage applications and answering our client's email and telephone queries. Prior to working at Hearnden Associates I worked for the Compass group but am glad I’m now part of this great team. I live a very sociable life and am rarely to be found at home.

Karen Smith-Halvorsen
I joined Hearnden Associates during the summer of 2007 following maternity leave. I am enjoying working in the Surrey countryside rather than the City although drawing on my previous experience with RBS has proved very useful. I am CeMap qualified although at present I'm using my skills in an administrative rather than advisory position. I share the busy role of chasing mortgages from application through to completion with Lesley Taylor. Like many of my colleagues I work part-time to enable me to spend time with my family. When time permits I head to the gym to keep fit.
